It's always nice when you get a few dollars that aren't part of the budget. For me it's like a Christmas gift because I don't spend money on myself that often without feeling guilty.
So at the beginning of the school year, my neighbor asked me if I could watch her son get on the bus in the morning because she had to leave about an hour before the bus came. I was like sure! I mean I had to put Sir-Talks-A-Lot and Runnin' Man on the bus anyway. No big deal. Well two weeks later her son brings me two crisp 20 dollar bills! SWEET! And every 2 weeks since I have been receiving this little treat.
Well today it came, and the first thing I think of is PURSE! I've been wanting a new purse for a while and Marshall's had some super cute ones for SUPER cheap!
The only thing is, I can't spend guilt free. No such thing when you have children. I mean, we are real scarce on cash right now, trying to catch up after Christmas and all. Militayr gets paid on teh 1st and 15th, so I'm not going to die waiting.
So there are a few options for this 40 bucks:
1. Blow it on that purse
2. Save it for that Barry's Bootcamp video I "need". ($60, I think)
3. Grocery (not MUCH needed, but we could use a few things.
Help me decide. What do you guys think the best use for those few little bucks can be used for? Should I be practical or selfish? I'm curious to see your answers!

$40...I'd spend it on groceries. I've been following and I know you are working on your lady lumps, so I'd be certain to buy some guilt free snacks-either the pre-portioned or some nuts; things everyone can enjoy. I don't know about you, but these things generally are not part of the regular shopping since they are expensive. Marshall's also has nice designer active gear-you can get a great pair of yoga pants for about $10. Enjoy!
PURSE!!!!!!!
You can always do jumping jacks, video or no video, go for the purse!
I say find yourself a cute purse for about $25, spend the rest on a few groceries, and forget the video.....you can always find other ways to exercise and you've been doing good on the treadmill!
Or, spend it all on the purse. There's nothing wrong with treating yourself once in a while and when you take care of yourself, you feel better, more confident, and the other things like sticking with exercising will follow. It's not selfish...you deserve it!
Put it in your underwear drawer and keep saving up so you can splurge...you deserve it...I would wait on the purse...save more!
oh - hard - I think maybe be a bit selfish this time!! Next time - use it for the family.
Sounds like me - my friend sent me $100 (a $100 bill) and I have been holding it for 2 months now. I am torn what I should do with it!
being the country girl that I am..I'd put it in the mattress. Never know when you might need it :)
I would use some for groceries and save a few bucks for a purse.
I usually always choose the groceries, but you know, sometimes we should treat ourselves-we give our all to treating everyone else-I say go blow it on the purse and don't feel guilty about it!!!
Hold on to that $40, add to it, and go nuts later... on something FOR YOU. See if you can do it...
PURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I say try to hold on to it and then reward yourself with something special once you meet one of your fitness milestones.
I say purse. But I know how you feel about being guilty. Every time I'd look at the purse I'd feel guilty. And then I wouldn't want to use it because I'd know how guilty it would make me feel. I know...it's craziness.
But do as I say and not as I do. Go for the purse!!!!
Purse! Especially if you can buy it and enjoy it without guilt. I pray you can.
I say be selfish with it. How often does a Mom get to be selfish? Not enough. BTW, your children are beautiful. Also, thank you on your comment on my blog today. If that happens, it was totally worth it.
