The Tooth Fairy is OLD!

The tooth fairy is getting old!

This morning, three days after losing his tooth, my 7 year old walks into the kitchen holding 3 dollars.

Me: Where'd ya get the money?

Cam: The tooth fairy brought it.

Me: Didn't you lose your tooth like 3 days ago? Why are you just now getting money under your pillow?

Cam shrugs: I don't know. I guess she's just slow!

CJ butts in: She's just getting old!

Me, a little offended: OLD? Why would you say she's getting old?

CJ: She use to be able to fly fast. Now it always takes her days to get to us. I figure she's just flying real OLD now.

He demonstrates a crooked, slow flying motion.

OLD may very well be the reason behind why the tooth fairy FORGETS to get the tooth the first night it is lost! LOL!

BUT in the tooth fairy's defense, she only forgot the FIRST night. The second night Cam was sick and didn't check for it!

********************************************

And another one came out tonight!

You know, having boys can really give you a heart attach if you're not careful!

The boys were wrestling, as usual and I hear,

OW! YOU DUMMY! WHY DID YOU DO THAT!

SORRY! OWWW! MY ELBOW HURTS!

OH MAN! YOU DUMMY, YOU KNOCKED MY TOOTH OUT!

Me: What Tooth??? WHAT TOOTH???

A bloody mouth comes around the corner with a HUGE empty spot right in the front.

My mouth falls open at the missing front tooth. Didn't he already lose that one?

It was loose anyway, the bloody mouth said.

I was able to breathe again as I realized that Cam had only lost one of his front teeth until now and that the one that was now MIA from his mouth was indeed a baby tooth!

He and CJ go into the bathroom to doctor up the bloody space with some salt water and I go back to cooking dinner, amazed that there were no tears with this accident.

In the bathroom I hear:

Cam: CJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHH! eeeeeeeeehhhhhh

CJ: Sorry!

Cam: Why did you do that?????!?!?!?! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhh!

CJ: Sorry!

I go into the bathroom to find out what the tears are all about. I mean, shucks! The painful part is over!

Cam in tears: CJ dropped my tooth down the drain!

CJ: I didn't mean too!

Tears tears and more tears.

Me: Why are you crying so much? You weren't gonna keep it anyway.

Cam: But.... the ... tooth fairy.... sniff sniff.... now she won't leave nooooothing..... eeeeeeeeeeee!

His brother comforted him with telling him the story of how he lost his first tooth before it could reach the pillow and he still got something for it.

I told him that it was okay. That the tooth fairy understands that sometimes those tiny little things get lost and that maybe she will still bring something. She can find those lost ones anyway. And she's small enough to go down that drain to get it.

Still mad at his brother. He dried his tears and all was okay in the universe again.

Now if she can just remember to come tonight!

Kiddie Hang Over!

So the Hubs is home! Whoo Hoo! Okay, so I didn't tell you that the Hubs was gone for 2 week TDY (temporary duty) to Texas. Ft. Bliss. El Paso. The desert. But I didn't mention it because... well... I don't know ya'll! I didn't want any psychos showing up at my door because they knew I was by myself. You know, since my blog is so popular and all I might have a couple of stalkers out there! (.... and all readers roll there eyes ....)

So anyway, he's back. And that's part of the reason that I've been MIA in blogland. I would say that he and I have been in blissful heaven making up for time loss, but instead, I've been suffering for a terrible cold. All the bells and whistles. Coughing all night. Sneezing all day. The excessive build up and constant hackin up of mucus. Like you really wanted to hear about that. Yeah I had it all. And poor Hubs has been left out in the cold while I try to nurture myself back to health.

On top of all that, my monthly visitor has arrived. What else can go wrong, so you ask?

Well, PTO had a Family Movie Night at the school on Friday and guess who was in charge? None other than me! So I had to drug myself and get to the school to make sure that everything was getting taken care of like the awesome coordinator that I am.

Well the night went fine, other that a few sound issues. The kids had a ball. Sir-Talks-A-Lot took advantage of the fact that I wasn't paying a lot of attention to my kids while I was working and I think he must have eaten some of everything we had available for sell. You name it, he ate it! Pizza, popcorn, nachos, cotton candy, coke and candy.

Well needless to say, by the time we got home, someone had a tummy ache. I think I had a preview of what he is going to be like the first time he comes home with a hang over! The boy passed out on the floor of his bedroom at the door way. Couldn't even make it to his bed. About an hour later(yes I left him on the floor), Sir-Talks-A-Lot comes to me covered in puke. Okay, remember the list of junk food? NICE! It was quite disgusting. And by this time, my meds had worn off and I'm back to sneezing and coughing like crazy trying to get this horrible mess out of the carpet while Hubs is asleep on the couch. He's usually no help when it comes to cleaning up puke. He tends to make himself disappear when the kids get sick. A frikkin' Houdini!

After a shower, apparently since I wasn't done cleaning in his room, Sir-Talks-A-Lot decides in his drunken stooper that he should go into the other room and pass out on THAT floor. BUTT NAKED! If I wasn't so frustrated, I woulda had an awesome picture to post! So I wake him and it's right back to the bathroom for another hurl!

After some Pepto, he slept through the night.

So I got a glimpse of what it's gonna be like for him in the future, on one of those crazy college nights (after his 21st birthday, of course) when he has partied WAY too hard.

All I can do is shake my head and pray!

Bruises and Boys

What's with boys and falling on their faces??? Two brutal accidents in two days? Come on! What are they trying to do? Give mama a heart attack?

Okay, yesterday evening Sir Talks-a-Lot comes in from playing outside:

Sir Talks-a-Lot: Mama, I just had a big giant car crash.

He's very graphic in his descriptions.

Me: Really. (I don't think I even looked up from whatever it was that I was doing.)

He goes on the describe how he and Little X (Same kid from the other story, nicer name) were riding and somehow crashed into each other on Little X's bike was on top of him.

But there were no tears, so as usual, I just brushed him off and told him it was time to come inside.

About 15 minutes later he comes back and says that his lip hurt. This time I look at him and wow is his top lip swollen! And the boy already has some serious soup coolers anyway! "Bad Mom!" I think now! The boy could have really been hurt and all I said was "really"?

Okay, so today, my doorbell rings and Hubs is already opening it before the DONG. Runnin' Man is at the door with about 3 of his friends and a dad. I look at him and there's a HUGE KNOT on his head right next to his eye. Hubs had seen them coming through the window. The Neighbor Guy was almost running down the street cradling my boy. Apparently Runnin' Man had tried to ride the neighbor's son's rip stick, I think it's called? One of those darn skateboards with only two wheel that twists and in the middle. Oh yeah, I was wondering what he was thinking too. Well he fell and went head first. And I mean really head first. There's like no other scratched on him. Poor Neighbor Guy must have thought he had a concussion!

Needless to say, he spent the rest of the day in the house. I spent the first hour trying to convince him to no avail to put ice on his "boo boos" and keep him awake. Grandma always said don't let them fall asleep after a head injury.
