Bobbing for Apples. Gross or Fun?

Am I the only one who thinks that bobbing for apples with a room full of snotty nosed virus infested first graders is a disgusting activity for a Halloween Party at school? Am I over sensative with this? I mean, to me, there is no other sure way to pass in germs than to mix them all up in a tub full of SPIT! EWWWWWW, I'm gagging just thinking about it. This is the plan for the Halloween and I want to protest! What do you think?

TOTALLY gross. I mean, come one! It's not 1907 anymore, there ARE other things to do for fun, so why make a big pot of germy apple stew. As if school/kid functions arent' germy enough. lol... I totally agree. Or at least insist your kid goes first!!! ;-)

Hahaha. Now that I think about it, it ain't that pleasant. If you don't want your little one(s) drinking up the germs then step in and redirect them to something else.

Maybe you can suggest a different activity to the teacher? What the heck ever happened to just doing a simple halloween parade??

Yeah I am sure I'm leaning towards gross. There are more diseases and germs around now than before an you can't bet my daughter won't be bobbing for anything!

BTW, your blog is cute!!

Dude, I remember when I was little, at the church Halloween parties, and everyone trying to get me to bob for apples. Even then, I thought it disgusting. I mean, kids lick and slobber all over the apples, and then, when you're up, you're expected to lick and slobber all over the apples someone else licked and slobbered all over. Ugh.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. Thinking about it makes me gag. Especially if your child goes last. Well, I went to the school and casually mentioned the boobing activity to the teacher and told her I thought it was germy. Well she said that Sir-Talks-A-Lot is at the bottom of her roster and she would start with him. Much better. Well then I got an email from the mom who suggested the whole thing saying that she decided not to do it. FINE WITH ME!
