Dress like a Politician Day and a $150,000 shopping spree!

Today is Dress for Success Day/Dress Like a Politician Day at my boys' school. After explaining to them what a politician is, they both decide that it would be cool to get all dressed up like Obama. So, they were in their little shirts and ties and looking just as handsome as ever. (didn't get pics, but will post later) Obviously they've been watching a lot about the election stuff because Sir-Talks-A-Lot insists on letting me know (yet again) that he voted for Barack Obama.

For anyone wondering how a 6 year old kid has already "voted" for president, here's your answer: Nick.com's Kids Pick the President. Really cool! Click on it! You gotta see it! What a wonderful way to get kids involved!

So anywho, they go outside to wait for the bus and apparently their friends kinda started picking on Sir-Talks-A-Lot, in a joking way, telling him that Runnin' Man is Barack Obama and he is McCain. He didn't like that AT ALL! I'm watching from the garage door (because it is a bit chilly these days) as he starts chasing the other boys screaming "I'm Not McCain! I'm Barack Obama!"

I'm more than tickled by this. It's funny to see that kids are just as sensitive about the parties as some adults are!

****************************************************************

Okay, so no I'm not giving away a $150,000 Shopping Spree. Did you really think that possible?

But apparently one lucky winner did receive this prize from the GOP. Any ideas who? Yes! Sarah Palin of course!

The GOP has given Mrs. Palin and her fam a $150 thousand dollar ticket to Saks Fifth Avenue I guess so that she can "look the part".

(This Jacket is Slammin'!)

(And those SHOES!)

But the girl does have taste!

Well well WELL! Now this is just my opinion, and I probably should saved this one for Tell It Like It TIZ Tuesday, but what the heck. Shouldn't that money be used for campaigning purposes?
I don't know, I'm just askin'.
That could have been money to go towards one more of those negative ads and those silly RoboCalls. What are they thinkin'?

Now, as far as I know, MOST politicians pay for their own digs. Hillary Clinton has never asked the Dems to buy her an Armani suit! And as we've all heard, and something that is painfully obvious, Michelle Obama, "The Down-To-Earth Mom" , shops at Target to get her matronly fashioniste duds.

So why, pra-tell, was is so important to have Palin rally looking like a million bucks (or at least 150,000 bucks), although she only sounds like 5 bucks? Were her moose-skin pencil skirts and beaver-skinned moccasins not sufficient enough for the main-street media?

And all this spending while she is campaigning about SAVING the U.S. money and criticizing Obama's spending habits?

(insert Final Jeopardy melody here)

Now in her defense, she did say that it belongs to the GOP and will all go to charity when this is all ever with, after she has gotten her use and fill of the new duds. I'm sure those folks without heat this winter will love that read jacket!

It will definitely take more than clothes to make her fit the part! (lol)

What's most offensive about that $150,000 shopping spree for Sarah Barracuda is that it came from PUBLIC FUNDS. Keep in mind that while Barack is raising $130 million a month through $75 donations from the people, McPain and Co. are running with--and spending!--public funding.

So, er, um, if she's a size 7, I got dibs on those shoes!

(And next week, MyBrownBaby is going to feature a mom who's son has been having some heavyweight debates on the school bus. He lives in McCain country. But the kid can hold his own!) Kudos to your boys for holding it down!

HA! Gotta love a vice presidential candidate who wears "come f*** me boots" with corporate suits.

That whole thing is crazy. I guess the least she can do is be a good looking loser!

Well, in her defense, she needs all the help she can get. lol!!!

And the boots and suits are cute, but she still doesn't know what the VP's job is. :-)

I understand that they want to sell her as beautiful, but no woman is going to believe that Palin couldn't look great and show that she is budget conscious in clothes without a designer label? The people whining that Obama should have taken a public flight to visit his ailing grandmother are just hateful. If Palin's children were seriously ill, nobody would question her flying home on a campaign plane. It's just not the same thing.

Funny. The words. Not the issue. What the hizzie? $150 grand? The clothes were for the whole family but still.

I love that you little one held his own at the bus stop and I can't wait to see the pictures.

I agree with you... she wears NICE clothes. Maybe they can give them to me when the election is over.

Never mind... I probably won't fit in them anyway! And WHERE would I wear those clothes? To playgroup!

I remember that day. I too was standing back @ the door, cold you know. Saw the boys picking @ eachother and how upset Sir-Talks a lot was. When I found out what it was they were picking about I almost wet my pants, I would be so proud your boys are fighting about the election. Let me tell you their are much worse things young boys could be fighting about. Plus how Running Man stepped in and didn't take sides but put a stop to it. Good boys proud to say they live in my Hood. Oh and Yes, Mrs Sarah if you want to donate those cloths I know of a great cause who is willing to accept them.

Honestly, I think it's a tough call. I think she does need to look a certain way (whether she's qualified to hold that position or not) because the rest of the WORLD is looking at her, not just the U.S. I think the problem comes in when she presents herself as a 'hockey mom" or a Joe Six Pack. I don't know any hockey moms that dress like that! I think Michelle Obama is very lucky that she can look that good in the clothes that she's wearing. No doubt, it's easier to look good shopping at Neiman Marcus than at H&M!
