Tell It Like It T-I-Z Tuesday

Welcome to another episode of

Tell It Like It T-I-Z Tuesday

For anyone who has not had the pleasure of reading one of these post in the past, this is where I let the world know how I feel about any issue at hand, be it politics, entertainment other bloggers or whatever! I'm going to tell it to you like it is! Like I see it! Because you all know that the way that I see it is the way that it IS!

I know that all of the world, all the people that I know and all my friends and family are not expected to be as fabulous as I am. I understand that. And I know that everyone is not going to think the same way that I do and be as smart as I am. People. I get that. It ain't easy obtaining all this fabulousness.

But one thing that I find that bothers me about some unfabulous people I know is when you have people in this day and age that choose not to exercise their right to vote.

I mean come on. Really? After all that we have fought for in the past? After all the fights that African Americans and women endured just to have this right and you can, in this day and age, choose not to make your voice heard? After all the people that have been murdered and beaten just for trying to go to the voting polls? After all the tricks that have been played to keep people from voting? After all the unfairness of not being able to have their voices heard and treated like less than a person because of their gender or the color of their skin? After all the injustice people have endured? Really, people?

I have a friend who didn't register because she "doesn't get into that stuff". That much I don't understand? If you have kids and you are in the least bit concerned about their future and what the world is going to be like for them, the least you can do is vote... for them. I think its downright irresposible for anyone over the age of 25 (only because younger people or more interested in having fun, so I understand) to not vote. I think it is even more irresposible once you start having children to say that you don't care about what happens in the future.

Don't care about health care.

Don't care about the economy.

Don't care about the war in Iraq and the many lives taken in that fight.

Don't care about whether your children will be able to buy a house.

Don't care about your children being able to attend college.

Don't care about the money that is going to put put into public education.

Don't care about retirement for your parents and grandparents or even yourself.

When you choose not to vote, there are so many things that you are choosing not to give a damn about. So many uncertainties in your childrens future that your just don't care enough about to try to make better.

I'm not saying that everyone should be a die hard election follower, watch CNN 6-8 hours a day and send out text messages informing people about the election (No I would never do that!! hee hee!), but do vote and do care about what happens to your country.

As this election comes to it's end, it is starting to get down right ugly as racism rears its ugly head and proves it is still alive and well in the 50 states. Horrible slurs and threats (see one HERE) are being slung and people are becoming more and more angry. Trickery is out there as people are pretending to be campaigners, going door to door with a "voting device" telling people that the little machine will take their votes for them and all they have to do is sign. They do not have to go to the polls to vote. There is no such monster!

Please stay informed and aware of those people doing their damnedest to take away your right.

Just Vote!

I agree. My grandma is one of those... and no, she does not get a pass because she's a grandma. She just flat out said that she's not voting because she doesn't feel that either of the candidates are gonna change anything... because they are politicians at the end of the day. Then when I asked her to consider the future, she told me that she ain't gonna be here anyway so what does her vote matter...

Lets just say that I have stopped talking to her about the election because I don't wanna burst a brain vessel.

And thank you for blogging about this because I get too angry to do it, lol.

It's definitely important to vote and let your voice be heard.
What if EVERYONE said, 'I don't get into that stuff?" Then where would we be???
Great reminder to get involved!

Thanks for paying me a visit!

Yes, voting is a privilege. No one should take it lightly or for granted. Yeah, there were times I didn't feel that my vote mattered, but they really do. And they certainly will for this one. EVERYONE should be voting that is eligible. (GO OBAMA!!!!)

Great Point!

I'm taking my 8 and 10 year old with me to vote. They're very excited about it.

Although I'm not overly excited about either candidate, I still have to vote! We're so lucky to even be able to vote.

Thanks Diva

Wit woo!!! Great post! And let's not forget, if you don't vote, you have no right to complain when you don't like what is happening in the world, because you sat back and did nothing!!!!
